Capital of the Haute-Savoie department in the Rhone-Alpes region, this town has many stories to tell. It has been a part of the county of Geneva, then the House of Savoy, which was captured by France during the French Revolution. Savoy was then returned to the Duchy of Sardinia, before being sold back to France in 1860. Annecy lies on the northern tip of Lake Annecy and is known as the Venice of the Alps.
Although it went through an industrial phase in the 19th and 20th centuries, the beauty of Annecy’s natural surroundings have been prioritised and preserved, making the waters some of Europe’s healthiest and cleanest. Although this is a place tucked away behind the mountains, it now attracts plenty of visitors, making sure there’s always plenty to do. However you want to spend your time here, let Kyriad Annecy Centre host your stay.
