Our hotel is a traditional 36 rooms hotel located near the city center of Carentan, the capital of the Cotentin Marche and east Bessin, midway between the Utah and Omaha D-Day landing beaches. Surrounded by a large garden, our Kyriad hotel was entirely renovated this year to offer even greater comfort in our rooms (new decor, new bedding and modern amenities) and common areas. We had to go to France for a family funeral and this hotel was close by, being quite central to where the funeral took place and ferry ports. We booked this hotel a few days before we visited and it turned out to be a great little find. It was easy to find and we had a warm welcome on arrival. Lots of parking which was a bonus. The hotel was basic but suited our requirements very well and most importantly it was very clean. This is extremely important to me when I go away so earns a huge thumbs up from me. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well for the two nights we were there. We ate in the restaurant one evening and enjoyed the food very much. The service from the staff was friendly and polite (the Scottish lady from Brighton was particularly helpful and we would like to thank her very much). If we visit this area in France again, we wouldn't hesitate in booking again.

The first time we visited was a year ago. This time the restaurant was open and the food is amazing. When we arrived there was a coach party of school children from the UK which caused some trepidation however they were extremely well behaved and we couldn't hear a thing at night ( private school).

I can't sing the praises of this place any higher. If you want to know what it's like, then read my previous reviews Or you can just ignore them, and miss out on a fantstic place to stay.. If you read through all the reviews there are one or two negative ones but, as P.T Barnum used to say, "You can't please all of the people all of the time". As the title says, I've stayed here 7 times now, so ask yourself this, would I keep going back time and time again if the place was bad? Will be going back again on the 23rd July, to show some friends all the D-Day stuff. For day trips, visit the little harbours up the East side of the peninsular, some fantstic little resteurants there. What do I think of the Kyriad? If I had the money I'd move in and live there !! LOL

I am still waiting to find out whether I will get a refund for the 85.15 Euros I paid for one night Sunday 13th May 2018. As I had lost my passport I could not travel to France so cancelled the booking. I wanted to transfer my booking to the 12th June but they said they were full.
