Our hotel is ideally located in the heart of Nantes, the City of the Dukes of Bretagne. Just 100 yards from Place Graslin, its fountain and theater overlooking Cours Cambronne, and the famous "La Cigale" brewery, our Hotel Kyriad Nantes Centre - Graslin enjoys a prime location. You can easily eat in the many restaurants in the area, go shopping on Crébillon Street or go to your appointments or just visit the city. Close to the "Médiathèque" tram station, 6 minutes from the TGV train station (line 1), our 51-room completely renovated hotel is very easily accessible.
The very central location of our Hotel Kyriad will allow you to discover the many curiosities in the City of Nantes: the Castle of the Dukes of Bretagne, the historic district called Bouffay near the cathedral, the Jardin des Plantes, Bretagne Tower, Crébillon Street that connects Place Royale to Place Graslin, walks along the Erdre River, the Japanese Garden on the Island of Versailles. Finally, the Machines de l’île theme park with its giant elephant straight out of the world of Jules Verne is just 10 minutes' walk away, and will delight both young and old. Sports lovers will be able to try out the Gloriette swimming pool that's a short walk from the hotel or go running along the Loire to the Hangar à Bananes and the new Quartier de la Création.
Finally, history lovers will want to go to the Nantes History Museum near the Château or to the Slavery Memorial located at Quai de la Fosse, within walking distance of our hotel. You can also park your vehicle at Gloriette parking lot (free overnight) or that the Mediathèque parking lot. If you have come to Nantes by plane, there's a shuttle from the airport to downtown that takes 30 minutes Our business clientele will be easily able to get to the Cité des Congrès Convention Center (in 10 minutes) or the Beaujoire Parc des Expositions (in 30 minutes) on the tramway (line 1).

The room was clean and compact but there was no air conditioning. As the temperatures were warm this was not ideal. There were no toiletries or cookies in the room as it had said in the description and when I asked at reception the girl did not know anything about them. The internet was not working for the 2 nights I was there and the breakfast was very limited.
I will not be booking another Kyriad hotel.

- Spent 4 nights there a week ago.The hotel is very central and all the sights are within walking distance.However I would be reluctant to stay in a Kyriad Hotel following my experience. The day we checked in was quite warm and on checking in we found the room stiflingly hot with Sun blasting in. It was really small and stuffy and overlooked a grotty yard. It was spotless I have to say. No air conditioning appeared available. I checked with receptionist on way out and was informed air con was unavailable in Kyriad Hotels. I showed her my booking form specifying air conditioning and she was quite indifferent and said I could speak with her manager the following day. On returning later I was given an upgrade to a much nicer room cooler and bigger which I was happy with. Basic soap gel in shower so bring your own shampoo and conditioner. No English Channel on TV. Skip breakfast not worth money very basic and scarce, no hot food.

Indeed, we are on an environmental approach, because of this, we do not have air conditioning.
We are sorry that this one appeared on your booking confirmation.
This is an error, The problem has been rectified since.
However we are quite surprised to read that our receptionist could be "indifferent".
We are sorry if this is the impression you have had.
It even offered you a fan, and even allowed you to reach your private phone line to inform you that we were upgrading you to a higher category for the four nights.
We also take note of your comments regarding our breakfast.

- We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights and thought it was a very decent place. From the outside, it looks rather scruffy, but the room (at the back of the hotel) was clean, quiet and comfortable. And while in many places in Nantes, for example the tourist office (!), people speak English with a rather heavy accent, the staff at the reception was fluent, friendly and very helpful. They gave us some excellent tips, to name one: go to the machines de l'Île at night. To see the elephant and illuminated environment was like a fairy tale and very different from the daytime experience.
The location is perfect; only one minute from Place Graslin in a nice neighborhood and close to all major sites. A morning coffee at La Cigale is a good way to start the day.
The only downside we can think of is that the doors have heavy door closers, which causes the door (and that of your neighboring guests) to slam shut with a loud bang. Probably very safe, though :)
Our own Nantes tip: do not buy the Nantes pass; instead, buy a museum card for a year. There is a single museum card (Pass Musée) and an all museum card (Pass inter-musées), but during July and August, a period called Voyage à Nantes, the single museum card gives you unlimited access to almost all museums, and it costs only 10 euros! Public transportation tickets are cheap (15 euros for 10 tickets), and also valid on the navibus, a ferry that will take you across the Loire to the relaxing fisherman's town called Trentemoult.
