The park opened in 1992 and was the second Disney resort to open outside of the United States, after Tokyo Disney Resort. It was also the first resort to be owned and operated by Disney. The complex was originally called Euro Disney Resort, with just one theme park attached called Euro DisneyLand. It became DisneyLand Paris in 1995.
The park is not only the most popular theme attraction in France, but with 15,405,000 visitors in 2009 it is also the most visited in Europe. Across the two theme parks – DisneyLand Theme Park and Walt Disney Studios Park – there are more than 50 separate rides to enjoy. Featuring a range of different areas, all variations of families, from toddlers to adults, are provided for.
